SOURCE ♕ FIRST IMPRESSIONS ✘ AGE: 19 years old. ✘ VISUAL: Scott is tall and fit with an athletic build. In his even younger days, he was nicknamed 'Slim' because when Xavier found him living with Jack Winters he was very underweight for a fourteen years old. Some years later, he's grown to be more muscular, specially around his shoulders and arms, and still has legs for days. He has sharp cheekbones, a defined jawline, brown hair and brown eyes. Not like the later can't be seen under the visor that controls his beams. His skin is surprisingly unscarred for someone who spends 80% of his time fighting. ✘ FASHION: It ranges from casual to absolutely hideous because Scott can’t dress himself to save his life. More often than not he’s in his uniform, which is a skin tight bodysuit that leaves little to the imagination. He favors comfortable jeans and t-shirts, as well as leather jackets, his favorite colors are blue and yellow. Sometimes he wears the leather jacker over his superhero uniform. because he’s a lost case. ✘ DEMEANOUR: Even before hitting puberty Scott had been bullied, experimented on, brainwashed, guilt-tripped and abused on almost a daily basis. All things considered, it’s a miracle that he didn't become a straight up serial killer. In fact, there’s a noticeable contrast between all the abusive people he’s met in his life and the strict moral code he developed along the years. He is generally kind and friendly, even if occasionally shy and awkward. He is protective, with a tendency to overthinking and kinda broody on occasion but surprisingly not too hard to talk to. More often than not the mom friend. ✘ SOUND: Calm and collected Scott rarely raises his voice unless he has to shout out a warning or an order. ✘ SCENT: He’s a neat freak so he smells clean/like the soap he’s using at the moment. ✘ MENTAL INFORMATION: Scott mindscape looks like a light green/white space filled with honeycomb shaped structures that show his memories and past experiences. That is, most of the time. Given that telepaths like Mr. Sinister, Charles Xavier and Emma Frost had made a number on his head there are parts of Scott’s mind that are locked, twisted or the memories had been altered. He’s learned to develop mental blocks over the years and there’s stuff he's tried to repress himself super hard, but he's vulnerable to telepathy. One quick way to piss him off is reading his thoughts/get into his mind without his consent, especially after Emma tried to brainwash him into becoming his older self. ✘ MAGICAL INFORMATION: Unless the uncanny ability to attract problematic telepaths counts, he has none whatsoever. ♕ OOC ✘ BACKTAGGING: Yes sure, can backtag until infinity. ✘ FOURTHWALLING: I rather not please, unless is an in-universe character like Deadpool/Gwenpool or just someone who knows the X-men/mutants. So, Yes from a fellow superhero to another, but please don't tell him he's a fictional character. ✘ PHYSICAL AFFECTION: He’s a very affectionate person even if it might not look like it at first. Canon pretty much establish that he's a huger, even if somewhat an awkward one due to him not always reading people's feelings the right way. So yep, go ahead. If he doesn't know the person hugging him he will react more awkwardly than anything else but he is used to having his personal space invaded. Same goes with kissing and flirting. The flirting might go right over his head at first, he's pretty oblivious to this kind of thing unless the other person makes it very clear that they like him. ✘ PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Practically what he does for a living, go ahead at your own risk. Scott has a high tolerance for pain and no problem fighting back. More often than not he’s not using his full powers to fight because he doesn’t know their extent. Given how he could level mountains, if he takes his visor off then anything in front of him is going to get obliterated. ✘ RELATIONSHIPS: Yup, for both platonic/romantic ones. Cross-canon is welcome. Scott is Seventeen at the start of the All New X-men comics and Eighteen/ninteen by the time he goes back to his correct time-line after the Extermination comics. But Marvel time-line is sketchy at best. I can age him up if needed but characters under sixteen will absolutely be just a friend. M/M, M/F, NB is all good. He’s used to mutants/Inhumans having all sort of appearances and behaviors, and he’s dated an alien space pirate. Scott has no issue with species either. ✘ OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: Scott has been emotionally abused and physically attacked on numerous occasions in the past. He’s also got some pretty bad self-esteem problems and occasionally shows self-destructive tendencies. While talking about his life, these subjects have a chance of being mentioned: child abuse, brainwashing, torture, mind-control, physical assault, depression, malnourishment, hallucinations, suicidal thoughts, and death. ♕ POWERS AND ABILITIES ✘ ENERGY BLASTS: Scott emits blasts of red energy out of his eyes. The range and force of said blast changes accordingly to Scott’s own energy levels or how much he opens his eyes/visor. The beams cause no heat or recoil (unless he's floating in space/the vacuum), instead they’re a massive concussive force and can ricochet through different surfaces to hit one or more targets in one single shot. Because of Scott’s brain injury he has no control over the beams and his eyes constantly emanate the energy. The blast can be only hold back with his eyelids or with the use of ruby quartz lenses mounted in a visor and/or glasses. He can see perfectly well with his eyes unmasked, the problem is that what he’s looking at is no longer there a second after he does it. Despite the fact that the origin of the beams has changed along the decades the current explanation is that the red energy comes from a whole different universe and Scott has access to it. It’s as weird as it sounds, the kid got portal eyes. Scott's mind has a particular psionic field that is attuned to the forces that maintain the apertures that have taken the place of his eyes. Because his mind's psionic field envelops his body, it automatically shunts the other-dimensional particles back into their point of origin when they collide with his body. Thus, his body is protected from the effects of the particles, and even the thin membrane of his eyelids is sufficient to block the emission of energy. The extra dimensional supply of energy seems to be infinite but it causes him mental and physical fatigue. If Scott uses it for 15 minutes straight or in a single powerful blast he might need some minutes to recover. It’s said that he never uses his power to produce the maximum power output due to his worries about not being able to fully control his powers. He might also get headaches if he doesn’t use his optics blast for a long time. ✘ SPACE AWARENESS: Scott shows an enhanced sense of trigonometry and space awareness, it’s not clear if this is a superpower per se or a natural talent. He’s able to observe the objects around him and determine the trajectory his optics blast will take while being reflected, using that as his advantage during fights. ✘ POWER RESISTANCE: His body is resistant to his own energy and the powers of his brother Alex and can block them with any part of his body. This is not the case with his half-brother Gabriel/Vulcan, as his powers can harm Scott as if they were not related at all. ✘ PHYSICAL PROWESS: Scott knows Boxing, Judo and Aikido. He has intense combat training and he practice every day. That said, in the end he is only human and doesn't have enhanced strength or superheating so events like bad guys shooting at him are a big inconvenience. GET CODE HERE
